John Westerfield - Senior Administrator in the Investment Industry

John Westerfield

While studying government as an undergraduate student at Dartmouth College, John Westerfield concurrently served as president of the campus chapter of the Alpha Chi Alpha fraternity. He earned his bachelor of arts with cum laude distinction in 1981 and subsequently matriculated at Harvard Business School, where he studied general management and held membership in both the Finance Club and the Investment Club. After obtaining his master of business administration from Harvard in 1985, John Westerfield found employment as a managing director with the New York City offices of Morgan Stanley. He remained with Morgan Stanley for nearly a quarter of a century.

Mr. Westerfield went on to spearhead private investment projects in commercial real estate and REIT securities as a managing member of Braddock Capital Management in Harrison, New York. In the middle of his seven-year tenure with Braddock, he began advising the board of directors of Mitsui Fudosan America (MFA), the US subsidiary of the largest real estate investment and development company in Japan. John Westerfield ultimately became chief executive officer of MFA in April of 2015.
